Due to the limited infrastructure in Nepal, unemployment is an ongoing challenge.  With few jobs available, most people are left to farming simply to survive.  This reality has forced many of the healthy villagers to leave Nepal to work in Gulf countries, leaving behind the elderly or sick in an economy with virtually no employment opportunities.  

MTH is working to address this economic situation by helping individuals in various business endeavors.  By offering one-time livelihood support, individuals are able to establish a business such as a goat, buffalo, or pig farming.  Beekeeping and other forms of animal husbandry have also proven effective.  The goal is to enable individuals, families, and communities to engage in a sustainable source of income.
